• Something Old, Something New, featuring the world premiere of Taking Sides by composer Matthew Tommasini, will take place on Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Birmingham Unitarian Church, and Sunday, April 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church.
• DCWS is excited to present its first jazz Nightnotes concert, Detroit Jazz Legends, Friday, May 9 at 8:30 p.m. at Hagopian World of Rugs in Birmingham

AN UPDATE ON THE PROJECT TO COMMISSION NEW CHAMBER WORKS
DCWS, the Oberlin College Conservatory, and the University of Michigan School of Music received almost 250 applicants to commission new works. The panel of adjudicators has chosen the following composers:

• Matthew Tommasini
• Massimo Lauricella
• David Ludwig

The three sponsoring organizations would like to congratulate these composers and thank everyone who submitted an application. The new music will be performed in 2007, 2008, and 2009 at each of the sponsoring organizations.
